Litter pedigree
We are very excited about this litter. Distagon was a very talented dog. He earned his FC and AFC titles at 3 years of age and amassed 23 FC points and 2 wins, and 42.5 AFC points and 3 wins (per AKC records) in his DM shortened career. While there will be some DNA baggage from this breeding in terms Distagon's DM status, we think that the pedigree with 8 DCs, many other FC and AFC titles, not to mention a couple BISS and a BIS in 5 generations, offset that concern. Note that while Distagon was DM 'afflicted' Goldie is DM 'clear' and all pups in this litter should be DM 'carrier'. Also note that all pups will be DNA tested to confirm their DM status as well as determine their PRA and EIC status after the removal of their dew claws (about day 4). Results should be available by the time pups are 4 weeks old. Ultrasound exam on May 6 indicated at least 6 puppies. An x-ray is scheduled for May 25 to give us a final estimate on number of puppies to expect.

The Dam will be CH Tulemist Golden Opportunity SH (Goldie). This will be Goldie’s 4th litter. She has had 2 litters by AFC Distagon's ATV of Nordais and 1 litter by CH Tulemist First Light UD MH that produced some exceptional pups. Goldie is from my October 2013 litter by CH Quail Run's Two Buck Chuck*** out of CH LPK Rubicon River Red CDX MH**. Goldie is a dark sedge colored female with a small white blaze on her chest. She is a granddaughter of DC, AFC Westwind's Rudy of Nordais. Goldie is clear of the DNA genes that produce PRA, EIC, and DM, so any pups that she produces will not not be afflicted by these diseases. All of the pups from this litter will be DNA tested to determine their individual carrier status for these diseases at the time their dew claws are removed (about day 4). Goldie has her Senior Hunter title and has nearly finished her GCh title. Due to Covid, she has not been able to compete for either her MH title or the completion of her GCh title for the last 14 months. Her competition has been further limited as she was a returned pup that I got back when she was one year old.
